
Sara Trunzo is a singer-songwriter, community organizer, and host of “Country & Northeastern.” Her 2019 “Food and Medicine” reached #3 on the Folk Alliance International radio chart. Adobe and Teardrops called her last single “Taking My Power Back,” “political country music at its finest.” Trunzo has collaborated with Darrell Scott and Mary Gauthier; shared stages with Suzy Bogguss, Carlene Carter, and Malcolm Holcombe; and played venues such as The Bluebird, Club Passim, and Birthplace of Country Music Museum. She has been a Joseph A. Fiore fellow, Music to Life juried artist, and received honors from Maine Songwriters Association, International Acoustic Music Awards, New England Songwriting Competition, Tennessee Songwriters’ Week, and Hazel Dickens Songwriting Contest. As an organizer, she co-founded food security organizations Veggies For All and Waldo County Bounty, and has worked on social justice and environmental campaigns in Maine. She is on the board of Maine Songwriters Association, Documentary Songwriters, and WERU Community Radio. Her forthcoming EP, Better Than I Was, is due out June 2025.
